Turning a Spiritual Vision Into a Business Mission
For many entrepreneurs, a business begins with a strategy or a market opportunity. For Janie and Kathy, it began with a deeper calling. Together they launched the Women’s Center for Soul CARE to address a need they believe many high performing women quietly carry: the need for peace, calm and clarity in a world that spins with noise and distraction.
Their mission is rooted in a simple belief. When the soul is strengthened, everything else in life and business becomes stronger. Janie often explains it this way. Her work is about empowering the soul so that a woman’s business can become even more powerful.
Janie already had years of experience guiding others in spiritual growth. She serves as the spiritual director for the Zig Ziglar international community, a certified Ziglar coach and trainer, and speaks to audiences around the world. Yet the idea of creating a dedicated space for women’s spiritual care had lived in her heart long before the organization was formed.
At the age of fifty-eight, she returned to school and earned a master’s degree in theology. Her final thesis focused on building a women’s center devoted to SoulCARE. During this time, Janie followed through on a vision to turn her backyard space, including a hillside, into a retreat center. Like many meaningful visions, however, the idea waited patiently for the right time and the right partnership.
An Unexpected Friendship That Became a Business Partnership
The partnership that would bring the vision to life began in an unexpected way. Years ago, Kathy booked a stay at Janie’s home through Airbnb. What started as a simple visit quickly turned into a friendship that revealed a powerful professional alignment.
The two women discovered that their skills complemented each other perfectly. Kathy had built a successful career in real estate and brought strong operational expertise. Janie brought the voice, wisdom, and teaching ability that formed the heart of the mission.
Kathy encouraged Janie to step forward with the long held vision of the Women’s Center for SoulCARE in the newly created retreat center she had built behind her home. Together they created a partnership where each person leads in her area of strength. Janie serves as the speaker, teacher, and spiritual guide, while Kathy manages operations, organization, and outreach.
Their collaboration transformed a long held idea into a growing movement.
A Networking Event That Changed Everything
While the vision existed for years, a defining moment arrived less than a year ago.
Kathy invited Janie to attend a networking event with her. Janie rarely joined these events, but something told her she needed to go. When she entered the room, she encountered a large group of women entrepreneurs from many industries.
They were ambitious and hardworking, pouring their energy into building businesses and careers.
In that moment, Janie realized something important. Many of these women were giving everything to their work but were not tending to their own spiritual well-being. She described it as discovering a harvest field of women who needed encouragement, clarity, and inner strength.
From that day forward, Janie joined Kathy in networking events and women’s communities across the country, sharing their message and building relationships with entrepreneurs who desired deeper balance in their lives.
Growing With Purpose and Intention
Like many early stage ventures, the Women’s Center for SoulCare continues to grow and evolve. One of the greatest lessons the founders have learned is the importance of focusing on individual strengths.
Janie concentrates on speaking, teaching, counseling, and leading retreats. Kathy focuses on visibility, social media, and the operational side of the business. By leaning into their unique abilities, they have created a partnership that allows each of them to serve women in meaningful ways.
Their advice for aspiring entrepreneurs reflects their own experience. It is easy to chase every opportunity or trend, especially in the digital age. Instead, they encourage founders to pause, reflect, and discern what truly aligns with their purpose and their business.
Expanding the Vision for the Future
As it looks to the future, the Women’s Center for SoulCARE is expanding its reach to serve high-performing women navigating overwhelm and distraction. With a holistic approach that integrates both personal and professional support, the Center meets women where they are. Through deeply immersive retreat experiences, it offers a pathway back to peace, grounded calm, and renewed clarity.
Upcoming opportunities include elegant retreats designed for faith-driven women entrepreneurs who want time for reflection and renewal. Janie is also launching a seven month MASTERmind program for a small group of ten founding members, based on the verse:”We have the mind of Christ.” (I Corinthians 2:16)
Participants in the MASTERmind Program will journey through the Sacred Path Adventure–Janie’s proprietary framework built around Seven Sacred Signposts– designed to help women strengthen their faith while navigating life’s challenges.
Alongside these programs, the Sisters of the Heart Collective meets monthly to provide connection, encouragement, and spiritual growth for women seeking a supportive community.
Together, these initiatives reflect a vision that continues to grow. One centered on helping women flourish both spiritually and professionally.
