The Expanding Focus on Brain Health

Brain health has become an increasingly important topic in global health conversations. As populations age and awareness of cognitive wellbeing grows, researchers and coaches are working to translate neuroscience into practical strategies that support lifelong learning and resilience.

In 2025, one such conversation reached a global audience when brain health researcher and coach Trish Turo appeared on Let’s Talk Brain Health. The episode was later named the program’s top episode of the year.

The podcast, hosted by Dr. Krystal Culler, reaches listeners in twenty seven countries and ranks among the top ten percent of podcasts worldwide.

Making Neuroscience Practical

One reason the episode resonated widely is Turo’s focus on translating research into everyday action. Her work centers on neuroplasticity and the idea that the brain continues to adapt and build new neural pathways throughout life.

Rather than focusing solely on clinical treatment, she highlights the role of daily habits such as learning, movement, rest, and social connection in supporting cognitive health.

A central principle guiding her work reflects that belief.

Take care of your brain, it is the only one you have and you are the only one we have.

A Career Focused on Brain Health Education

Turo’s career spans more than fifteen years working in wellness coaching and brain health education. She holds a master’s degree in health psychology and is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.

Her work has included coaching thousands of individuals and contributing to research involving nearly two hundred participants examining lifestyle approaches to brain health. The findings from that research are currently pending scientific publication.

She also authored A Kids Book About Healthy Habits in 2024, introducing younger audiences to the importance of developing healthy routines early in life.
She was recently named Director of Brain Health with the Virtual Brain Health Center, reflecting her growing leadership in the field.

A Field Gaining Global Attention

As brain health becomes increasingly important in discussions around aging, mental wellness, and performance, experts who can bridge research and real world application are shaping the future of the field.

Turo’s recognition through a globally ranked podcast reflects this shift toward evidence based, accessible education.
