Tax defense isn’t typically associated with heart. But then again, Pietro Canestrelli isn’t your typical tax professional.
With six years inside the IRS and decades of experience in the field, Pietro now serves as the co-founder of America’s Tax Defender, Inc. — a fast-growing tax strategy and defense company helping individuals and businesses navigate audits, debts, and tax planning with clarity and care.
“We’re not a law firm. We’re a people-first tax defense company,” he clarifies. “We focus on protecting lives — not just numbers.”
A Career Sparked by Tragedy and Transformation
Pietro’s defining moment came in 2008, when his brother took his own life while struggling with unresolved tax issues. Despite Pietro’s expertise, he couldn’t help in time.
“That moment changed me forever,” he says. “Now, every client I serve, I serve like it’s my brother.”
That painful loss turned his career into a calling.
Guided by Courage and Math
Ask Pietro what it takes to succeed, and he’ll give you two words: Courage and Math.
“You need the courage to move forward — and the math to confirm you’re doing the right thing,” he says.
It’s that formula that allowed him to start solo, and eventually grow America’s Tax Defender with Kristen, his wife and the company’s founder.
Putting Humanity Back Into Tax Defense
The company isn’t just about audits and settlements. It’s about trust, empathy, and empowerment.
“People with tax problems are more than cases,” Pietro says. “They’re people who deserve respect — even when the system treats them otherwise.”
This value system is what keeps clients loyal and the company thriving.
The Next Chapter: Saving Millions, Empowering Thousands
Over the next two years, Pietro plans to save business owners tens of millions of dollars through smart planning and strategic IRS defense. And he’s not keeping the knowledge to himself.
“The goal is not just to defend — it’s to educate,” he adds.
His book on Amazon shares those insights, along with stories that explain how strategy and compassion can work together.
America’s Tax Defender is more than a business. For Pietro and Kristen Canestrelli, it’s a vehicle to give people hope — and freedom — when they need it most.
