I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Navigating the Path of a Woman in the Male-Dominated Career of Medicine. As trailblazers in male-dominated medical fields, women frequently encounter being the only female on their teams and experience a dearth of female leadership representation. Despite these hurdles, their journey remains one of excitement, enjoyment, and privilege.

The path to becoming a physician demanding a commitment of 12+ years of education and training. long hours of study and clinical experience, dedication to mastering the art and science of healing. fulfillment that comes from making a tangible impact on patients’ lives makes every sacrifice worthwhile.

Had to deal with stereotypes and proving their competence in a male-dominated environment.

Always had the family needs and needs of patients at the top of the list, often put myself on the list for what was left over.

Had to release guilt that self-care was selfish. Self-care is not optional or selfish.

Personally I have experience with facing struggles with work-life balance, stressors, juggling unrealistic expectations that led to me showing up as Superwoman with the idea that I had to do everything without asking for help for fear of being seen as a slacker.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Success is a journey, not a destination. Success includes the external indicators such as achievements, titles, accolades, money. Success also includes the internal goals such as fulfillment and satisfaction, just as important as the external indicators of success. You don’t have to choose one type of success over the other, it’s possible to have both types of success.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success is the choice to live your purpose on purpose in relationship with the Creator and in harmony with life principles. Success is the result of consistently applying fundamental principles. Success is a choice. I chose success.

What’s next for you?

I’m excited to enjoy fulfillment as a solo author after the participating in several anthologies.
