Michelle Cardinal isn’t just breaking the mold—she’s singing through it.
Once a salon owner, now a global vocal empowerment coach, Cardinal is the founder of Sing With Chelley, a business built on one radical idea: every person has a voice worth hearing.
And she’s not talking about pitch or polish.
“We’ve been trained to suppress ourselves,” Cardinal explains. “But when you sing from your soul, you reclaim your power.”
The Catalyst: Trauma and Truth
For Cardinal, this mission is personal. She survived ongoing sexual abuse starting at age four. Her voice was stolen long before it ever had a chance to be heard.
“Singing was how I got my voice back,” she says. “It was my way out—and now it’s my way forward.”
That sense of purpose became the foundation for Sing With Chelley, which blends emotional processing with vocal release in a way few coaches do.
Betting on Herself—and Nearly Losing Everything
Pursuing her vision came at a cost. She shuttered her salon and went all-in on her coaching business, only to face financial instability, single motherhood, and even homelessness.
“I questioned everything,” she says. “But I kept coming back to the message: don’t quit.”
The Moment It All Changed
During a yoga retreat in Greece, she asked to lead a group in song.
“Everyone cried. They felt seen. That was it. That was the moment I knew this wasn’t just a niche idea—it was a global calling.”
Since then, she’s coached hundreds, facilitated countless vocal circles, and taken the stage as a keynote speaker.
A Future of Loud, Unapologetic Voices
What’s next?
“Stadiums. Entire arenas of people singing their truth together,” she says. “It’s not about fame—it’s about frequency. Our united voices can heal this world.”
Her upcoming book, Being Too Much, is now scheduled to release in fall 2025. It’s a guided journal designed to help readers reconnect with their voice and claim their space in the world.
Her Advice to Creators & Healers
“You’re not too much. You’re just in a world that hasn’t heard your full sound yet. Keep going.”
